TOPSHAM, ME (WGAN): According to Topsham Police, they are searching for three individuals who were involved in a crash on Sunday morning.

Around 12:45 a.m., according to the police, a crash occurred on River Road.

The car, according to the police, left the road, traversed a lawn, struck a house, and then overturned.

Two men and a woman exited the vehicle and fled, according to a witness who told the police.

The police say they would like to know who is responsible.

A complaint has been filed by a woman from Maine who claims that she and her child were among the victims hurt earlier this summer at the Topsham Fairgrounds when a monster truck toppled utility poles.

A Fryeburg mother who was hurt in the incident along with her son has filed a lawsuit against the operators of the Renegade Monster Truck Tour, the driver of the monster truck Crushstation, and the owner of the Topsham Fairgrounds, according to the Press Herald.

On June 2, a monster truck, driven by a Jefferson man, went off a jump and hit power lines that crossed the track, taking down four utility poles and a transformer, which injured at least eight onlookers.

Police say the driver told them he could not see the power lines overhead from his seat in the monster truck.

There are no plans to press charges according to the Topsham Police Department.

The lawsuit claims that Renegade Monster Truck Tour let personnel to operate the monster truck carelessly and neglected to sufficiently warn participants of the tour’s risks, according to the Press Herald.

According to the Press Herald, the lawsuit further claims that the Sagadahoc Agricultural and Horticultural Society did not take sufficient measures to supervise the safe usage and management of the Topsham Fairgrounds.

The court date is not yet determined. The amount of money sought in the case is unclear.
