According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur has gained confidence in their chances to capture Dominic Solanke, a striker for Bournemouth, this summer.
Last season, the 26-year-old was one of the most exciting attacking prospects in the Premier League for a Cherries team that was predicted to be relegated a year earlier.

As Bournemouth comfortably avoided relegation, Solanke created 19 net ripples and contributed three assists in 38 top-flight games.

In spite of his outstanding achievements on the South Coast, the forward was left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the 2024 European Championship in Germany.

Over the summer, Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney were given supporting duties on the European stage instead of Solanke, with Harry Kane being the Three Lions’ first-choice option up top.

Tottenham is ‘increasingly confident’ about signing Solanke.
Spurs are optimistic that they will sign England striker Solanke, who plays for Bournemouth, before the summer transfer window closes, according to The Sun.

According to the report, the Lilywhites are prepared to fulfil the 26-year-old’s £65 million release clause in order to smash their previous record for a player transfer.

Richarlison, a Brazilian forward who was once at Everton, cost the North London club £60 million to sign in 2022. The player may be leaving this summer.

Owner of Bournemouth Bill Foley recently said that the Cherries have two or three possible successors lined up should their talisman go before the end of the year, indicating that he is well aware of the significant interest in Solanke.

joining a South Coast club from Liverpool in 2019, Arne Slot’s Reds will receive 20% of the fee that Bournemouth earn from the sale of the ex-Chelsea man.

Does Solanke suit Tottenham well?
Given that earlier this week’s sources said that Solanke had communicated to Tottenham his intention to go to North London, it is now unclear if the attacker would be a valuable addition to Spurs.

Following Harry Kane’s summer transfer to Bayern Munich, the team’s all-time top scorer, Ange Postecoglou has been left without a reliable central striker.

For the Lilywhites, who frequently had to utilise captain and winger Son Heung-min through the middle of last term, Solanke’s arrival would undoubtedly address that problem.

Toney, Jonathan David, and Viktor Gyokeres of Brentford have also been linked to a move to Spurs; however, it’s believed that the latter’s £80 million release clause is too costly for Tottenham at this stage.
