Mother of missing son issues statement over her son’s where about.

On the sixth day of the search for the British teenager, Jay Slater’s mother made a straightforward request to her son, stating, We just need you home.
Debbie Duncan said she has not slept since the 19-year-old vanished on Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, according to the PA news agency.

She claimed she didn’t know if the Spanish government considered the UK’s offer of assistance to be “an insult” and turned it down.

Mr. Slater, who was last heard from on Monday morning, was from the Lancashire town of Oswaldtwistle. He vanished after attempting to walk back to his lodging after missing a bus.

Before going missing, he had gone to the NRG music festival on the island with two pals.

About 11 hours would have passed on foot to go from Mr. Slater’s last known location to his lodging.

When asked how the family was handling things, Ms. Duncan said,  We’re not,” to PA. I’m not handling this very well.

I’m tired and haven’t slept at all. It’s been terrible.

I simply cannot give up on him.

The Guardia Civil had received a “proposal of support from Lancashire Constabulary to see if they need any additional resources, but the Spanish government had turned it down.

Ms. Duncan responded, “I think they said they’ve got enough resources and they don’t need the help from English police, when asked if Spanish police had the right to accept assistance from the UK force.

I honestly don’t know if they consider it offensive. Really, I have no idea.

They claim to have sufficient resources to continue the inquiry. I’m not sure, not sure.

She said, It is, it is, when asked if the previous three days had left her head spinning.

Yes, I understand,” is a common response, but in reality, you don’t comprehend.

We just need you home – we just need him home, Ms. Duncan continued, expressing the message she would like to convey to her son.

Those close to Mr. Slater were staying in Tenerife “until we’ve got an outcome,” family friend Rachel Hargreaves told PA.

We really can’t give up on anything, can we? We have to live in hope, she remarked.

We intend to remain here until we receive a resolution.

We’re happy for anyone who wants to help or anyone with information or anything like that,  she said, addressing the support the family had gotten from well-wishers.  Like I say, we’re still living in hope that we’re going to get a positive outcome.

We just think that it’s best to leave it to the professionals at this point.

Only a modest number of emergency personnel were spotted in Masca and the adjacent areas on Saturday, compared to previous days when the search parties for Mr. Slater appeared to be fewer.

The majority of the most recent searches seemed to be carried out by firefighters, as rescue teams and sniffer dogs embarked in the morning on a steep gravel trail in Rural de Teno Park.

The NRG festival said in a statement that it could provide Mr. Slater’s family with “some practical support.

That such a devastating situation has arisen has deeply affected us all,” the statement said.

The members of Jay’s family who arrived in Tenerife under really trying circumstances have received some helpful assistance from us, and we are motivated by their tenacity and willpower.

More than £27,500 has been gathered for Mr. Slater’s family through a GoFundMe page; the money will help relatives and friends who are staying in Tenerife while the search is underway.
