Mercy crews, including air ambulance teams, have been called to the A96 in Insch, Aberdeenshire.

Responders have hurried to a multiple-vehicle collision that occurred on a popular Scots route this afternoon.

The alert was set out at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, prompting rescue personnel, including air ambulance teams, to the A96 in Insch, Aberdeenshire. A truck and three other vehicles were involved in an accident, which was reported to the police.

When police arrived, they swiftly blocked off the road between the A97 and A920 intersections in both directions. Drivers are advised that due to the collision, traffic is currently backed up.
An image captured from the location demonstrated the multi-emergency response, featuring law enforcement, a ground ambulance, and an aerial ambulance in attendance. Firefighters are presumably also present at the location.

The extent of any injuries is so far unclear.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.15pm on Thursday officers were called to reports of a crash involving a lorry and three vehicles on the A96 near Colpy, Insch.

There are emergency services on the site. Between the A97 and A920 intersections, the A96 is presently blocked in both directions.”

“We were alerted at 2.20pm on Thursday, 12 January to reports of a road traffic collision involving three cars and an HGV lorry on the A96 near Kirkton of Culsalmond, Aberdeenshire,” a spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service stated.

Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene. No firefighting was required, however crews safely removed one female casualty who was trapped inside a car, who has now been placed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Three other casualties are also receiving medical checks and crews remain in attendance to make the area safe.
