Following a catastrophic crash, the Air Ambulance has landed and there are significant delays on the M5. Between J28 and J29, there is motionless traffic on the freeway in both directions and all traffic is being held.
According to National Highways, “A major car accident has resulted in the complete closure of the #M5 in Devon in both directions between J28 (Cullumpton) and J29 (Exeter).”Due to an incident involving a car that has lost one of its wheels, all emergency services, including an air ambulance, are on the scene.”
Website for reporting traffic Additionally, according to Inrix, “a car involved on M5 in both directions from J28 A373 Honiton Road (Cullompton / Service Area) to J29 A3015 Honiton is causing all traffic to be temporarily held and stationary.”
There are also delays on the M5 at J22 (Burnham-on-sea) heading northbound as one lane is closed due to a broken down vehicle.
