A key route in Sussex that leads to the shore was closed due to an accident that claimed the life of a man.
According to Sussex Police, the single-vehicle collision occurred on the A23, close to Bolney, on Saturday at roughly 22:10 BST.
Police claimed that a guy, 25, who was receiving treatment from emergency responders at the scene, passed away shortly after. His family has been made aware of this.
Three further guys, all from London and all 25 years old, have been taken into custody on charges of driving dangerously and causing death.
Following the incident, both carriageways between the A272 at Bolney and the M23 junction 11 at Crawley were closed.
After being closed for over 12 hours, the coastbound highway reopened on Sunday at 11:00.
On yet another sweltering day, long waits developed as vacationers tried to get to the ocean.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman had advised motorists to stay away from the area.
Horsham, Crawley, and Burgess Hill fire departments were present.
Sussex Police are requesting that anyone with information come forward.
