During his tenure at Vicarage Road, Fletcher went on loan to play for Sheffield Wednesday, Wigan Athletic, and the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer.

He said on the club website, “I’m delighted that it’s all done and pleased to be here. It’s been a process to get the deal over the line.”

It’s true that the past few years have not been easy, but I’m glad to be where I’m wanted now that those difficult times are behind me.

“I want to help the team reach our goal this season by contributing my experience and strong performances.”

Fletcher is Blackpool’s second summer acquisition, following the permanent departure of seasoned forward Jordan Rhodes from Huddersfield Town.
