THE chaos surrounding the disciplinary system in professional rugby league has shown further signs of abating this week.
This week’s sitting of the Match Review Panel has resulted in just four charges being issued to Super League players, with only one of those carrying a suspension.
Warrington Wolves and Round Five opponents London Broncos do not have any players on the list following their meeting in the capital on Sunday, meaning both sides have a clean bill of disciplinary health ahead of their Challenge Cup sixth-round meeting at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday.
The only suspension given is to Hull FC forward Franklin Pele, who was sin-binned during his team’s loss against Leigh Leopards and now faces a one-match penalty notice for Grade C dangerous contact.
This indicates that the front-rower has been charged in both of his Black and Whites games. He was given a three-match ban after being sent off in their Round One loss to cross-town rivals Hull KR.
Three more players – Hull’s Nu Brown, Huddersfield’s Jake Connor and Amir Bourouh of Salford – have all been fined.
