“I’m going back there to win”

Ryan’s return as centre-back comes through Good Friday clash

After a protracted injury layoff, Ryan Johnson returned to our defence on Good Friday, and the well-liked centre defender already knows who his next target is.

More than two months had passed since “Johnno” was ruled out due to an ankle injury, but he recovered from a ninety-minute training in our 1-1 draw with Harrogate. On Easter Monday, we travel to the top team in League Two, Stockport, where he previously played.

After recuperating completely, Ryan remarked, “It will be nice to see a few familiar faces, but I’m there to win.” “We have a big game coming up, so hopefully we can take the three points and keep climbing the table.”

All of Ryan’s remarks are available for listening below.

Following his thirty-third Dons game, Ryan declared, “I’m feeling not too bad.” It’s incredible to be back out there, but for the first twenty minutes I had to get the rust out of my system since I assumed everyone might have seen.

“The guys gave it everything they had, and I’m just devastated that we didn’t win in the end.”

“We stated in the locker room following the Harrogate match that we still had five games left, so anything could happen. All we need to do is maintain our physical and mental well-being, and we’ll be prepared.

“I’ve observed that a few other outcomes were favourable to us, which is occasionally necessary. All we need to do is take care of ourselves Always remember to take each game as it comes, as cliche as that may sound. That is how crucial it is.

“On Monday, we travel to Stockport, and hopefully we return with three points.”

At the end, Joe Lewis, who had been his partner at the back for the majority of the season, played a few minutes. He will also be playing at Edgeley Park for the first time since joining the Dons on a permanent basis in January, on Bank Holiday.

“Towards the end, he made a brief appearance and almost scored a goal by latching onto a cross,” Ryan remarked. It was nice to have him back, and we need everyone well and prepared for the final few games.

“Hopefully, we’ll be set to go when Armani Little returns in not too far off.”

After Ronan Curtis scored our equaliser and his fourth goal for the Dons since joining us during the most recent transfer window, Ryan also shared his thoughts on his dismissal.

Actually, I didn’t see much of it, Ryan remarked. “I know that when the red card was displayed, everyone on the pitch, myself included, gasped in shock. Decisions like those alter the course of games. We truly responded effectively, in my opinion, and we emerged victorious from the game.

“Ronan thinks of those lofty objectives for us. He has that poise in the box, and it was a nice finish. That was a nice time for us, and we’re glad he’s here.
