Calum Ferrie, the centurion from Queen’s Park, has signed a new three-year contract with the team and is now expecting the Spiders to advance during his prolonged stay.

Prior to joining Queen’s Park in 2021, the former Port Vale young player had played in Scotland for Dundee, Stirling Albion, and Falkirk. That year, he assisted the team in gaining promotion to the Championship.

Calum’s outstanding play the previous season earned him the title of PFA Scotland Championship Keeper of the Year, and on Saturday, he made his 100th appearance for Queen’s Park with a superb goalkeeping performance and a clean sheet against Morton.

The 25-year-old said, “I have really enjoyed my time at the club over the last three seasons and it has felt like home,” so he had no trouble deciding to stay longer. I’ve made myself at home here and am eager to go on this adventure.

Being a part of a club that is growing is fantastic. Being a part of it has been fantastic thus far, and continuing to be a part of it will be even better. We had a poor start to the season, but Callum Davidson and Liam Craig have come in and given us confidence. They’ve been fantastic with me, as has the rest of the coaching staff, particularly Glen Johnson, the goalkeeping coach.

We had a bad start to the season, but we are looking up the table once more and are still taking care to avoid getting sucked into things at the bottom. The new management team would not have come here if they did not have these goals; after all, we all want to go in the same direction, which is up.

“If I didn’t have those goals, I wouldn’t be signing my contract either.”

“We saw that again at the weekend. Callum is an excellent shot-stopper,” stated Head Coach Callum Davidson. He has been indispensable to me ever since I started. He performed his duties admirably on Saturday, and I’m thrilled that he played in his 100th game in such a positive way, and I hope he adds a lot more to that sum in the future.

Calum currently possesses the confidence that goalkeepers need to succeed. Asking him to stay longer was a decision that was simple to make.

Graeme Shields, president of Queen’s Park, continued, saying, “I was thrilled when Calum agreed to a new contract. His man-of-the-match performance on Saturday demonstrated his value to the team. Calum has high expectations for himself, which he typically not only meets but also exceeds.
