Man and a woman hospitalised with serious injuries following A9 crash

A man and a woman were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness following the incident.

Following a three-vehicle collision on the A9 Inverness to Perth road over the weekend, two persons are hospitalised with “serious injuries.”

On Sunday, September 8, just before 2:00 pm, there was a collision on the main Highland route close to Kingussie.

Two vehicles—a white Ford Focus and a white Peugeot Boxer—traveling north and a southbound navy Volvo XC90 were involved.

The A9 was closed in both directions as a result of the collision, and emergency personnel including police, fire, and ambulance were dispatched to the area.

Both the 63-year-old female passenger and the male driver of the Volvo were transported to Raigmore Hospital via ambulance.

They are being treated for severe wounds.

The other two automobiles’ drivers didn’t need to be hospitalised.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have dash-cam footage of the incident,” stated Road Policing North Sergeant Calum MacAulay.

“Use 101 to report information to cops. When phoning, please reference incident number 1829 from Sunday, September 8.

At approximately 9 p.m. on Sunday, traffic on the route resumed.
