A 63-year-old man has died in another fatal crash on the A9.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of the three-vehicle crash around three miles north of the B847, Calvine Road junction yesterday afternoon.

It is the latest death on the Inverness-Perth stretch which road safety campaigners have been pressing the Scottish Government to dual faster in a bid to make it safer.

The incident involved two motorcycles, a blue Harley Davidson and a maroon Hyundai Ioniq, and the police are asking for information about it.

One of the motorcycles was being driven by a 63-year-old guy.

The road was closed for about seven hours while the occupants of the automobile were transported to Ninewells Hospital.

A 50-year-old lady was taken into custody and given charges related to the event. Today is her scheduled appearance in Dundee Sheriff Court.

The incident is still being looked into by the police.

“Our enquiries are continuing into the circumstances of this collision in which a man sadly died, and our thoughts are with his family at this time,” Sergeant William Strachan stated.

“I would ask anyone who may have seen the collision or who may have dashcam footage to get in touch with us as soon as possible if they haven’t already spoken to the police or given them this information.”

Give the police a call at 101 with details.
