After his car struck a tree close to the A11 in Barton Mills, Suffolk, a 50-year-old man passed away.
Peter Harvey, of Soham, Cambridgeshire, passed away at the scene on Thursday around 2:00 PM GMT, according to Suffolk police.
A crash investigation was conducted while the southbound carriageway remained closed. On Friday, the road reopened at 5:00.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to get in touch with the police.
