The ambulance service contacted police to Avro Court in Hamble on May 17, the Echo reported today.

After arriving at the scene, police confirmed the death of a 50-year-old woman, and they detained a 48-year-old Hamble resident on suspicion of murder.

He’s been freed on bond to August 16.

The announcement has prompted reactions from the people living in Arvo Court. One neighbour claimed it made him “feel sick.”

A man who wished to stay nameless remarked, “We watched it all happen that day from our window.”

The moment the body was being taken and the police emerged with evidence bags made everything seem extremely real.

“After the event, there were a lot of police here for roughly three days. The entire time, an officer kept watch on the flat.

“Obviously, when something like this occurs on your own street, it’s really concerning. When it first happened, there were at least five police cars in this area.

After 20 years of residency, a different resident remarked, “It’s a tiny village and nothing like this happens here.” It’s really strange.

“I saw nothing of the kind, but I know that some of the locals witnessed some police activity.”

We have lived here for twenty years, and during that period, I have never heard of a murder inquiry being opened.

When something like that occurs on your own street, you get very concerned.

It’s awful, and it’s almost making me feel ill. Whatever the cause of a woman’s death, it is also terribly sad.

“It’s a hideous thought,” said a resident who had moved into Arvo Court in December. We have just been in this beautiful location for a few months.
