Second man arrested over Sheffield incident which woman fuonstabbed & gun was fired

A gang of guys are said to have engaged in an altercation with a 41-year-old woman who sustained stab wounds.
After a lady was stabbed in a Sheffield suburb and a gun was discharged, a 23-year-old man has been charged with two offences.

On Monday, May 13, 2024, at around 11:20 p.m., police were dispatched in response to reports of gunfire at White Thorns View in the Batemoor neighbourhood of the city.

Lewis Aghour, 23, of Dawlands Close, Manor, is currently facing charges related to the incident, including intent to wound and possession of a handgun with the purpose to endanger life. Yesterday, May 27, he appeared before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court after being charged and placed under detention.

Mr Aghour will next appear before Sheffield Crown Court on June 25, 2024.

Subscribe to The Star’s free newsletters to receive a customised headline roundup and breaking news. “Officers, including our armed response officers and the National Police Air Service attended the scene and it is reported that an altercation took place between a group of men and a 41-year-old woman, where the woman suffered a suspected stab wound,” a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said in reference to the incident.

“The firearms discharge is believed to have occurred after this altercation.

Thankfully, no one was hurt by the discharge, and the woman’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or significantly changing.

Daniel Waterfall, who does not have a known address, was charged on Friday, May 17, with intent to hurt, possess an offensive weapon, and possess a handgun with the purpose to endanger life.

On June 14, 2024, he will make his next appearance at Sheffield Crown Court.
