Southend United man eyes eminent success#

According to Tommy Davis, Billericay Town’s local derby against Concord Rangers tonight marks the first of 12 cup finals.

Third-placed Billericay in the Isthmian Premier Division table lost 2-1 to Horsham on Saturday at New Lodge.

And now Davis is expecting a prompt response from Gary McCann’s end.

“Now is the moment for us to take charge and demonstrate our unity as a team,” stated Davis.

“We have twelve more cup finals, and although it sounds corny, we must win each one of them with all of our attention tonight in order to position ourselves for promotion at the end of the season.”

Billericay’s hopes were dashed on Saturday as Horsham rallied to hand their hosts their third straight loss.

Davis was also let down by the outcome.

The former Southend United defender said, “The game at the weekend was frustrating because taking the lead in games and not being able to capitalise on it leaves a sour taste.”

The best thing we have going for us right now is another game tonight to make things right and get back to winning ways, so there’s no time to brood over it.

We are eager to make amends with Concord and have the bit between our teeth.
As Concord keeps trying to avoid dropping out, they will also be in a desperate need of points.
With six games remaining, Margate, who is currently just above the drop zone, is seven points ahead of the Beach Boys, who are ranked 20th in the table.
Davis is aware that Concord will exert every effort to win three points as well.
Davi stated, “I’m expecting Concord to do everything they can to cause an upset and to leave everything on the pitch against us.”

“However, we have the entire intention of winning the three points and gaining some momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.”

Additionally, Davis is enjoying his part in making that happen after relocating to Town from Aveley in January.

Davis remarked, “I’m really enjoying my time at Billericay.”

“It’s an amazing club full of wonderful people who have the club at their heart from the top to the bottom.

“The main reason I am loving it so much here is that I am playing regular football now, which is always helpful, and I’ve clicked with all the boys since I came in.

The management team and gaffer have created a professional work environment with high expectations both on and off the field, and they are a pleasure to work with.

“We are aware of our internal goals and what is required of us to be successful this season.”
