The man was hit by a HGV on the A55 in Huntington and was pronounced dead at the scene
It has been revealed that a 22-year-old man died after being hit by an HGV on the A55 in Chester. Police announced the unfortunate death today, following the fatal incident that occurred approximately 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
Following the incident on the A55, Cheshire Police are currently requesting witnesses. “Collision between an HGV and a pedestrian” is how police have characterised the event, which happened on the A55 eastbound lane near Huntington and headed towards Liverpool.
The 22-year-old pedestrian passed away at the site. Specialised officers have been notified and are providing help to his next of kin.
Police looking into the crash are pleading with anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the event to come forward and provide information with their enquiries into the circumstances.
Inspector Steve Griffiths stated: “We are asking anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward to help us establish exactly what happened. The A55 and surrounding areas will have been busy at the time of the collision.” The same holds true for everybody who might own video.
