Matt Dufty’s new contract extension with Warrington Wolves will keep him with the team through the conclusion of the 2026 Betfred Super League season, the team confirmed.

Dufty has had an incredible start to the 2024 season, contributing 11 Super League try contributions—six tries and five try-assists—so far. With a total of 933 metres, the fullback leads the league in metres made. He has also won three straight Smart Energy Metre Maker of the Week awards.

The 28-year-old is currently rated second in the Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel rankings thanks to his incredible start to the year.

Dufty commented on the new agreement, saying, “I’m thrilled to stay with the club longer.

“I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else right now; I’m truly enjoying my time at Warrington.

“This year, Sam Burgess and Gleese [Martin Gleeson] have been huge for me. They engage me in the game, and this year’s attack strategy has worked really well for me.

“We have some of the best sports supporters in the world here at Warrington, in my opinion. They’re enthusiastic, and maybe we can live up to their expectations.

“I’m starting to feel a lot more mature in my rugby league and I’m excited now for the years to come.”

Sam Burgess, head coach of the Warrington Wolves, continued, saying, “It’s fantastic that Duff will be around for another two seasons.

“He has a real X factor and is an entertaining player. He is devoted to the team in every manner and a terrific guy off the pitch.

“We are all excited to see the next chapter of Matt’s career and watch him grow into his role even more over the next few seasons.”
