Securing their second signing of the summer transfer window has already seen West Ham United make significant progress.
After taking David Moyes’ place at West Ham, Julen Lopetegui has now had a few weeks to get used to his new surroundings at the London Stadium.

And with that, the east London team promises a new beginning as they aim to improve on their ninth-place result from the previous campaign.

While West Ham had a strong run in the Europa League, they occasionally made major mistakes in the Premier League.

Lopetegui is going to look to add his own touch to the team he inherited, so new players will be sought out.

Luis Guilherme, a Brazilian winger, was signed by the Hammers this summer; negotiations are currently underway for another potential summer addition.

West Ham have now spoken to agents of Dutch left-back

The supporters were left feeling frustrated by crushing losses to teams like Chelsea and Crystal Palace, so some of the performances from the previous season were obviously not good enough.

Therefore, in order to strengthen the team that Lopetegui has taken over, improvements will be focused on during the upcoming months.

The Hammers had a fourth-worst defensive record in the previous season despite finishing in the top half, having given up an incredible 74 goals.

Burnley, who were demoted, only gave up four more goals than that, but defense support might be on the way.

West Ham and Jayden Oosterwolde, the agent of Fenerbahce’s left back, have reportedly met, according to Caught Offside.

According to the report, Everton and Napoli are also interested in the 23-year-old this summer, so the Hammers are not the only team expressing interest.

The Turkish powerhouses are rumored to have no intention of selling their left-back this summer, but they might be tempted by a bid of between €25 and €30 million (£21.1 and £25.3 million).

Jayden Oosterwolde could provide Julen Lopetegui strong addition

There is definitely space for improvement over the summer when playing with Emerson Palmieri at left defense, and West Ham might find that in Oosterwolde.

With 27 league games played in the previous season alone, the 23-year-old has established himself as a regular for Fenerbahce and has drawn attention. But Oosterwolde now gets the chance to work under one of the best managers in the history of the sport in Jose Mourinho, which may be a significant consideration for the 23-year-old.
