Wrexham manager gives reasons why club can’t perform#

While Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney were not present for the “best” atmosphere, Phil Parkinson celebrated winning 150 games as the manager of Wrexham in grand style.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Hollywood co-owners of the Red Dragons frequently visit SToK Racecourse, but they haven’t travelled across the Atlantic recently because they are still actively involved in American affairs. In their most recent away game, Wrexham defeated their longtime rivals Notts County, 1-0, the team they defeated to win the National League title the previous year.

WHAT PARKINSON SAID

Parkinson reached a significant milestone in that match in North Wales. The seasoned coach commented, “It was my 150th game and the aim was to win,” after picking up three points on the historic occasion. Though not for me personally, it is satisfying to hit that mark and rejoice with three points because it was well-earned. However, I am quite happy with the boys’ performance. The dressing room has a strong mentality. Strong characters like James McClean and Steven Fletcher are among our players, and I believe that really came through. On the football pitch, you need skill, and I believe we demonstrated both in spades.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Parkinson secured his 94th victory as Wrexham’s manager when Fletcher scored the game’s lone goal against County, and the Racecourse was rocking once again. With 12,500 spectators in attendance, Parkinson continued, “It was a true Wrexham performance with a fantastic atmosphere.” I had a great time on that touchline, and I felt like it was the most enjoyable atmosphere we’ve had all season. The fans’ excitement for the game was evident as they cheered the boys on to victory.

FUTURE PLANS FOR WREXHAM?
Wrexham has made a comeback to the automatic promotion spots in League Two, trailing only three points above the top three with a game remaining. Reynolds and McElhenney will likely have even more reason to celebrate when their beloved documentary series returns to television in mid-April for its third season.
