A drug dealer was sentenced to prison for keeping heroin on his bedside table. Three people were taken into custody during a police raid on a Warrington home last month, including Ben Whitelock-Wainwright.
The 49-year-old reportedly told Cheshire Police officers that drugs were kept on his bedside table and in a wardrobe. Officers found a significant amount of heroin, estimated to be worth between £11,300 and £13,160.
Whitelock-Wainwright was given a sentence at Liverpool Crown Court yesterday, March 14, in connection with the drug bust that happened on February 13 at approximately 11:55 a.m. At the Alder Lane property, officers from the Warrington Beat Management Team also took approximately £6,775 out.
According to Cheshire Police, Whitelock-Wainwright was later charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (heroin) and possession of criminal property. The investigation was then turned over to the Warrington Proactive Policing Team. On February 14, he entered a guilty plea at Liverpool Crown Court to the charges.
Yesterday, Whitelock-Wainwright, of Alder Lane, Warrington, was given a four-year jail sentence. Detective Constable Robert Catterall stated after the sentence was handed down: “Illegal drugs can have a devastating impact on not only drug users but the community around them.”
In addition to making Warrington a safer place to visit and live, we are doing everything in our power to put an end to drug activity on the streets and make it very difficult for these gangs to operate. We will always take appropriate action in response to any information we receive regarding drug activity, and we kindly ask anyone who suspects drug use in their community to get in touch with Cheshire Police.
