Watford over power QPR in a race to sign Luton Town star

Watford, Queens Park Rangers, and DC United are interested in signing Luton Town midfielder Luke Berry this summer, according to Football Insider sources.

Berry is out of contract with Luton in June and could leave the club for free this summer.

The 31-year-old helped the Hatters win promotion to the Premier League last season and has appeared in 18 games across all competitions this season.

Championship clubs Watford and QPR have both expressed an interest in signing the central midfielder as they aim to enhance their squads ahead of next season.

DC United are planning to offer Berry a fresh challenge in America as he enters the latter stages of his career.

Berry appears likely to move on from Luton this summer after making just two starts and playing 304 minutes in the Premier League this season.

The English midfielder has been a valuable asset to the team since joining from Cambridge United in 2017.

During that time, he made 182 appearances for the Hatters, helping them win promotion from both League One and the Championship.

Berry may feel he still has plenty to offer in English football after Watford and QPR have both registered their interest in signing him this summer.

However, a move to America might provide him with a new challenge and a change of scenery, with MLS team DC United reportedly interested.

But his immediate goal will be to assist Luton stay in the Premier League this season, as they are now one point behind fourth-place Nottingham Forest.

In other news, the Championship side has listed six senior players for sale.
