Warrington Coroner’s Court heard the case of David Prescott, of Widnes, who passed away on February 12 at the age of 39, off Bradley Way in the town, on Wednesday.
He was discovered dead in a covered area near the Widnes Market staff entrance early on February 12.
At the moment, there was a significant police and paramedic emergency response presence on the scene, causing a delay for the traders to open.
On February 15, a post-mortem examination was conducted at the mortuary at Warrington Hospital.
It was said that a policeman present at the incident verified Mr. Prescott’s identity.
The toxicology findings indicate an unnatural cause of death, which is the grounds for the inquiry, according to a coroner’s official.
“It is requested that an inquest be opened and adjourned for further work to be completed,” the officer continued.”
Senior coroner for Cheshire, Jacqueline Devonish, granted the request.
“I am confident that the case of David Anthony Prescott will require an inquest based on the evidence I have heard,” she stated.
“Therefore, I formally open the inquest and set a hearing date of August 2 for this matter.”
“At 6.34am on Monday, February 12, police were notified that a man’s body had been found in the location of Widnes Market on Bradley Way,” a Cheshire officers spokesman stated at the time of the incident.
“The death is not thought to be suspicious, and the coroner will receive a case file.”
