Lee Evans, a former midfielder for Wigan Athletic, has signed a two-year contract with Blackpool.

The 29-year-old former Wales international was released by Ipswich in January after a dreadful injury season, and he played the majority of the previous season with Portsmouth.
He remarked, “It’s a really nice feeling.” I’m thrilled to be a Blackpool player and to be here. Speaking with Neil Critchley, he sold me on the thrilling task of trying to break out of this league.

“With the club just missing out on the play-offs last season it’s had a chance to build and then kick on again this coming season which I am proud to be a part of.”

Before spending four years at Wolves and beginning his career at Newport County, Evans joined Latics in the summer of 2017—first on loan.
Evans was traded to Sheffield United and then brought back to Wigan on a permanent basis in 2019 after being called up by Wolves.

Evans played for Wigan, where he won two League One titles. After helping the Latics pull off the greatest of Great Escapes while the team was under administration, he left for Ipswich Town in the summer of 2021.

He received his fourth career promotion with Pompey during the previous term.
