While watching the action at Wimbledon from the stands, Pep Guardiola got an unexpected offer.

After coaching Manchester City to a record-tying fourth Premier League title in a row last season, the manager is currently taking some time off.

As the competition draws to an end, he will be keeping a watchful eye on the European Championship taking place this summer, where many Man City players are still competing.

After being photographed in the Royal Box on Wimbledon’s centre court, Guardiola was seen participating in another sport at the weekend. Before the match between British player Cameron Norrie and Russian Alexander Zverev, the City manager was reportedly mocked by the crowd when his name was announced, according to BBC Sport.

After an enormous third-set tie-break, Zverev prevailed, winning 6-4, 6-4, 7-6 (15) to secure his spot in the fourth round.

Zverev sent a direct message to Guardiola during his post-match interview, presenting him with two options for leading City.

“We had a lot of amazing guests today, and it’s an amazing honour to play on centre court in front of this Royal Box,” he remarked. “A football legend in my eyes, with Pep Guardiola.”

“Thank you very much for coming; it’s a tremendous opportunity to play for an hour, and I became really nervous when I saw Pep. We have a few games there.

Bayern Munich, incidentally, needs a coach.

“And if you’re tired of football, you can coach me on the tennis court anytime.”

Although it seems improbable that Guardiola will become a tennis coach, the Catalan has said that this may be his last season at Manchester City.

“The reality is I’m closer to leaving than I am to staying,” he stated at the end of the season.

It will be nine years; it is eight.

I currently feel that I want to stay for the next season. We had a conversation with the club, and we still have time to discuss the upcoming campaign because I need to see the players to find out if they are following us for various reasons. I’ll stay, and when it’s quiet throughout the season, we can discuss.
