Later this year, a beloved shoe store is scheduled to close its doors for good.

Having been a mainstay of Broad Street for many years, Clarks is scheduled to close in September.

This week, the store posted a notice about closure, which sparked outrage on social media about the loss of another store in the town centre.

A representative for Clarks, which has shut down numerous locations around the nation in the previous 12 months, verified the store will close on September 4.

The Wisbech Clarks, which was located in the Horsefair Shopping Centre, closed its doors some years ago.

It means the nearest Clarks is in Ely, King’s Lynn, or Peterborough.

Police seize car in Wisbech after driver caught without licence and insurance

A town car that was being driven illegally has been seized.

Police halted a car on Wisbech’s Cromwell Road yesterday afternoon in response to complaints of a vehicle being driven by a possible disqualified driver.

It was discovered that the driver’s license and insurance were void.

The vehicle was seized and the driver was reported for the offences.
