Ansu Fati and Miguel Almiron, two current Premier League players, are being considered as Pedro Neto’s replacement at Molineux.

Many of Pedro Neto’s devoted supporters will be devastated if their beloved player leaves Wolves this summer. Pedro Neto is one of their best players. However, the transfer of such a highly regarded winger makes perfect sense when you take into account interest from larger teams and couple that with his appalling fitness record of late.

The 24-year-old has missed little over a century of games due to injuries since the 2020–21 season began. However, large teams are ready to take a chance on him since he is a mercurial superstar. If he leaves, Gary O’Neil might be paid more than £60 million, which would eventually make room for the entrance of more dependable players.

These five players might replace Neto during this summer’s transfer window in light of his speculated move elsewhere, with Arsenal dominating the race to sign the winger despite credit for an interest also going to Manchester City and Liverpool.

Miguel Almiron

Despite having a contract that expires in 2026, reports from March indicate that Miguel Almiron, a winger with 50 caps for Paraguay, is still not getting the playing time or luck he deserves at Newcastle. Eddie Howe is reportedly willing to let rid of the South American, and since the Magpies are keen in Neto, it’s possible that Almiron will be part of the trade.

The current Newcastle forward may be the ideal choice for Wolves since he has a tonne of Premier League experience and is ready to contribute right away. Although his play has waned since the beginning of this season, Almiron has demonstrated his ability to contribute to 13 goals in 34 Premier League games just a year ago during the 2022–2023 campaign.

Not only that, but he’s still in excellent shape despite having just turned thirty. The Paraguayan’s extraordinary natural fitness level may help Wolves over the next three seasons at the very least, and his reliable availability will be appreciated after enduring Neto’s prolonged absence.

Armando Broja

Chelsea’s forgotten striker Armando Broja might provide Gary O’Neil with a change in attacking configuration for the upcoming season, even if he wouldn’t be a match for Neto. Journalist Ben Jacobs revealed to GIVEMESPORT in January that Wolves were negotiating to sign the striker on loan with a buyout option.

He would fit directly into the center-forward position, which would eventually mean that Hwang Hee-chan might shift into a deeper supporting role—which is where Neto plays when fit—depending on whether the club comes back for his signature in the summer. With Matheus Cunha, Hwang, and Broja as their three goal scorers, Wolves would be much more lethal on attack and would become a scary trio.

Although Broja, who the Blues rated at £50 million in the winter, has fallen short of expectations while on loan at Fulham, a loan agreement might serve as a stopgap while Wolves consider other options. Better still, he might be able to emulate O’Neil’s success at Vitesse, where the bright-eyed 19-year-old Albanian international scored 10 goals and provided two assists in 30 Eredivisie games.

Rodrigo Gomes

There was a time when Molineux had more Iberian players than FC Porto, the most renowned football team in Portugal. There have been 24 Portuguese players to wear the orange shirt of Wolves in recent memory, and the team may yet want to take another look at what the Portuguese conveyor belt has to offer in their quest to replace Neto.

According to Liam Keen of The Express & Star, Wolves are considering making a summer raid to recruit the Braga attacker in order to expand their alternatives. According to reports, Gary O’Neil is “keen” to sign the winger, who can also play full-back if necessary. The team has been monitoring the player’s progress in Portugal this season.

Gomes, who is only 20 years old and on loan at Estoril Praia, is playing for the same team that Neto formerly played for. In 26 league games this season, he has five goals and seven assists, surpassing the best-ever return of 11 goals in the 2020–21 and 2023–24 seasons for his possible predecessor.

Alex Berenguer

Transfer insider Dean Jones recently told GIVEMESPORT that Alex Berenguer would “fit the profile” of the wide player Wolves are striving for, and that he is linked to a summer move from San Mames to Molineux. The Athletic Bilbao player, who has seven goals and three assists in all competitions this season, can be a threat from either flank or even from a more central position.

Wolves would be wise to sign the 28-year-old because his current contract expires in the summer and any money left over may be put towards other players in the team.

Ansu Fati

For Ansu Fati, things haven’t quite gone as well as everyone had hoped during his Brighton loan. Even though the Barcelona winger is only 21 years old, there is still hope that he will have a successful career. He might make a move to the Wolves in the future.

The Molineux team has a long-standing relationship with Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent, which may help them in their efforts to make a short-term transfer for him. Sport, a Spanish publication, claims that while La Liga teams Valencia and Sevilla are also interested in the player, Old Gold may be the better fit for him given his prior Premier League experience.
