Reactions to Lopetegui’s appointment have been wildly inconsistent. His management record has left some quite impressed, while others were eager for the team to leave.

Given his significant background in managing teams such as Wolves, Real Madrid, Sevilla, and the Spain national team, it’s understandable why some fans are thrilled about his presence.

On the other hand, it makes sense that Wolves supporters would criticise. Just before the season began, he left them high and dry, albeit it was not immediately apparent why.

In addition to implying that the Wolves board may be to blame for the peculiar circumstances, Balague says West Ham needs to do all effort to support their new manager in the transfer window.

According to Sky Sports News, the new manager has accepted a head-coach position and will not be in charge of recruitment; nonetheless, this will guarantee that there is no power struggle regarding transfers.

In other West Ham news, there has been talk of a £10 million release clause and the possibility for the Hammers to appoint a “Elite” manager.
