Usama Mir, a legspinner for Pakistan, was denied a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), leading to the sudden cancellation of his participation in the forthcoming T20 Blast. Mir’s chances of playing more T20 cricket overseas this season are scuppered by this sudden turn of events, which leaves Worcestershire Rapids scurrying to find a substitute.

The PCB denied Usama Mir’s request for a NOC, despite the fact that he was anticipated to be a vital member of Worcestershire’s team during the Blast. The cause? He is only allowed to play in two franchise T20 competitions outside of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) every season under the terms of his recently signed three-year central contract with the PCB.
