Worcestershire should have high expectations for themselves after their first-half performances in the 2024 Vitality County Championship, according to head coach Alan Richardson.

Currently ranked eighth in Division One, Worcestershire will play eight games before moving to the Vitality Blast group programme.

They have drew five and lost two of their matches to date and were in the position to challenge for victory in three or four of those games.

Upon being asked to evaluate the first seven games, Richardson responded, “It’s actually quite difficult.” We were unsure of how it was going to turn out for us. For the most part, we’ve played some really nice cricket.

We expected to face some really difficult times, and we have.

“So far, we’ve really enjoyed it.” We’ve played at some incredible locations versus some incredible teams.

We’ll examine it as the T20 progresses. Eight Twenty20 matches await us before we return for two Championship matches, which we are eager to see.

“It would be pleasant to combine a few more strong performances and monitor the results.”
