The 37-year-old Fletcher’s contract is set to expire at the end of next month, and he is now scheduled to become a free agent. According to the club’s official website, he has been offered new terms along with Mark Howard and Aaron James.

Wrexham offer striker new deal

If Fletcher agrees to stay put, Wrexham would be wise to cling onto him.

His vast experience in the game gives their striking department competitiveness and depth.

After joining the Red Dragons in September of last year, the former Scotland international—who earned 33 caps for his nation—has scored eight goals in 33 appearances.

The veteran played for Hibernian, Burnley, Wolves, Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke City, and Dundee United before moving to the Racecourse Ground.

With a plethora of offensive alternatives like as Paul Mullin, Elliot Lee, Ollie Palmer, Jack Marriott, and Sam Dalby among their ranks, along with the returning Jake Bickerstaff and Fletcher should he stay, Wrexham is well-stocked in that area.

They moved up with Stockport County and Mansfield Town after finishing second in the fourth tier this past term. Through the play-offs, one of MK Dons, Crawley Town, Crewe Alexandra, or Doncaster Rovers will enter the group.

One of the most recent Football League teams to release their retained list is Wrexham. Callum McFadzean, Ben Tozer, Jordan Tunnicliffe, Luke Young, Owen Cushion, Dan Davies, Rob Lainton, and Aaron Hayden have all been released.
