The custodian started his professional career in 2012 and was a member of Hawkes Bay United until 2014.

After that, he relocated to England and signed with Cheltenham Town, where he only played for one season before leaving for Scotland to play for Livingston.

Gould’s time in Scotland was brief since, the same season, he returned to England with Stourbridge, where he would remain until 2017 before moving up north with Spennymoor Town.

Following two seasons of 78 appearances for Spennymoor, Gould was traded to Altrincham in the National League in 2021.

He would eventually stay with the team for four years, including stints on loan at Nantwich, Ashton, and Chorley.

Despite being Altrincham’s backup goalie behind Ethan Ross most of the previous season, Gould still managed to make ten appearances in all competitions.

He recorded three clean sheets and an amazing three saves per game on average over those contests. His ability to distribute the ball was another strong suit; he had an 85% pass completion percentage, which included a 56% long ball success rate.

This demonstrates Gould’s ability to play with the ball at his feet as well as his skill as a clean shot-blocker.

Ollie Wright, who is on loan from Southampton, may give Gould strong challenge for the starting position.

He will add experience, which is frequently important when trying to stay in the division, to Mark Cooper’s recently promoted side.

Fans of Alty might be surprised by this move, but Yeovil made a safe one.
